The POLARIE U is an ultracompact automatic star tracker that is easy to transport. In addition to the functions of conventional star trackers, which track a camera for long exposures in accordance with the daily movement of celestial objects, the POLARIE U also features speed adjustment. Using a smartphone, you can control the shooting intervals. Communication between the smartphone and the POLARIE U Star Tracker allows you to set the exposures and take beautiful, sharp images without star trails in the stars or the Milky Way. Conventional astrophotography with telescopes captures a relatively narrow area of the sky. Star-scape photography, on the other hand, primarily uses wide-angle lenses to create impressive photos combining stars, the Milky Way, and landscapes. The possibilities for exciting compositions are endless and offer a completely new form of landscape photography. More than 20% weight reduction and improved load capacity The structure of the original POLARIE has been completely redesigned. The distance between the two bearings supporting the rotating shaft is approximately four times greater than in the predecessor model. Despite the 20% weight reduction, this results in a higher load capacity. The maximum load capacity is 2.5 kg (approximately 2.5 kg at a distance of 10 cm from the rotation center) when used for wide-field astrophotography. The maximum load capacity increases to 6.5 kg (approximately 6.5 kg at a distance of 10 cm from the rotation center) when a POLARIE Multi-Mounting Block (optional) and a DD dovetail slide rail (optional) are combined. In addition, the POLARIE U can achieve a load capacity of 10 kg (approximately 10 kg at a distance of 10 cm from the rotation center) for time-lapse photography, making it suitable for heavy camera equipment as well. Settings via smartphone Communication between the tracker and a mobile device via an app enables various settings to be made using a smartphone or tablet. For star/landscape photography, the speed is selected in Custom mode, while time-lapse photography settings for interval time, exposure, and rotation speed can also be adjusted. Five different speeds Star-scape photography (half sidereal speed) This setting is intended to capture a landscape together with the starry sky. The stars are not tracked precisely, but more slowly, so that the landscape in the foreground does not become blurred. This creates beautiful images of landscapes and the starry sky. Wide-field astrophotography (sidereal speed) When this mode is selected, the POLARIE U follows the stars at the same speed as their daily movement. In this mode, long exposures of comets, nebulae, star clusters, and the Milky Way are tracked precisely. Solar tracking (solar speed) This mode is suitable for photographing solar eclipses over an extended period. Moon tracking (lunar speed) This mode is suitable for photographing lunar eclipses over an extended period. Custom mode This allows you to set the POLARIE U to any desired tracking speed. The default setting corresponds to four times the sidereal speed. To change the setting to another speed, a smartphone or another Wi-Fi device and application software are required. Shoot-move-shoot mode It is possible to stop the camera's movement during exposure and restart it after the exposure has ended. In addition, the device is equipped with a camera connector (shutter release).
